Bio of Manuel : Average Latino highschool student that cares about his education, and is a balanced student by partakeing in after school clubs. Although he sometimes gets kicked out of after school clubs for frequently being absent, but his reason is that he needs to use the school internet to work on a report for school. He does have a computer, but he lives in an unservicable area leaving him ostracized from the internet. If Manuel only quick internet access at home maybe he could stay in the clubs he wants.
Bio of Drake: Manuel's friend. Just as excenlent as Manuel in shcool, but he has access to internet however the connection is too slow. ( He is cocasion male)
Bio of Shary: Friend to Drake and Manuel. Just as excelent in school as, and she has fast affordable internet. (Cocasion female)
The Story line:
- Drake is walking in the hall way near the computer lab. Drake sees Manuel after school in the computer lab. Drake enters the computer lab. Drake asks him why he is not at his club metting. Manuel replies he need to work on a paper and he needs the internet.
- Drake ask why cant he do it at home. Manuel replies that he has no internet access.
- Drake says that he feels bad for him and understands his pain.
- Manuel then asks Drake that does he not have internet at his house as well.
- Drake replies that he does but it is dial up and it is really slow and ends up staying up late in the morning to find information that he needs for his paper as well.
- Manuel ask him then why does he not just stay after school. Drake replies that he wish he could but his parents rarely have the time to pick him up after shcool and that today was one of those rares days.
- Manuel says that he lives only a few blocks from home so he can just walk home after he is done with his paper.
- Drake tells Manuel that he wish he lived in walking distance of the school.
- Drake says he has to go because his mom was here to pick him up. Drake exits scene.
- Manuel get a call from Shary and she is asking Manuel what the homework was for MYP Technology.
- Manuel tells her that we needed to find six sources for our project. Shary says that she can get that done in like ten minutes easy.
- Manuel ask her why is it that she lives only a few miles away from her and yet she has fast cheap internet.
- Shary tells Manuel that she has no correct answer for his question. Shary ask why did ask that and ask if he has internet where he lives. Manuel says no. Shary is in shock because they live only a few miles appart ( like two or four)
- Manuel tells Shary that she is lucky to have fast internet. Shary brags in a lampoon way to Manuel. Manuel tells her it is not funny but chukels a bit.
- Shary ask Manuel what time he usually gets home after school. Manuel says like eight. Shary says that she is sorry that he does not have internet access at home sujest that maybe he should ask his parents that if they could move.Manuel says they would never agree to that because they do not see the internet as useful.
- Manuel ask Shary what it is like haveing access to internet and not having any block sites like youtube because the school computers block those cites. Shary says its okay but sometimes its gets boering when sitting down all day looking at a computer screen. Manuel wishes he could experence that feeling, however he looks like he will not be able to for a long time.
- Manuel tells Shary that he has to go and finish his homework that requries the internet. Shary says good bye as well.
- Scene ends with Manuel just typing on the computer then end credits.
